Chairman's Welcome

It gives me great pleasure, as Chairman of Felinfoel RFC, to welcome players, coaches, supporters, sponsors and friends of the club to the 2026/27 season.

Following the very special celebrations of our 150th anniversary last season, we now begin another chapter in the long and proud history of Felinfoel RFC. It was wonderful to see so many people come together to celebrate what this club has meant to generations of families within the village and beyond, and it reminded us all that Felinfoel RFC represents far more than simply what happens on the rugby field.

As we look ahead, our focus is firmly on continuing to move the club forward while retaining the traditions, friendships and community spirit that have sustained us for more than a century and a half. We have every reason to be excited about the season ahead and I know our players and coaching team will once again represent the badge with tremendous pride and commitment.

None of this would be possible without the people behind the scenes. On behalf of the club, I would like to thank our coaches, players, committee members, volunteers, supporters and everyone involved with our junior and mini sections. The countless hours given freely by so many people are what allow a community rugby club such as ours to continue to thrive.

We are also extremely fortunate to receive the backing of some fantastic sponsors and local businesses. I would particularly like to place on record our sincere thanks to Owens Group for their continued support of Felinfoel RFC. Their commitment to the club is hugely appreciated and partnerships such as this play an important role in helping us maintain and develop rugby here at Felinfoel for future generations.

As always, the name of Phil Bennett remains inseparable from Felinfoel. Phil was not only one of the greatest players ever to represent Wales and the British & Irish Lions, he was one of our own. His affection for Felinfoel and his connection with the club remained throughout his life. We continue to remember him with enormous pride and affection, and his legacy will always form an important part of the story of this club and provide inspiration to those who follow in his footsteps.

The challenge for all of us now is to build on everything that has gone before. We have inherited a club with an extraordinary history, but its future depends on the enthusiasm and commitment of the people involved today.

To everyone who pulls on the jersey, volunteers their time, sponsors the club or stands on the touchline supporting us, thank you.

I hope you enjoy the 2026/27 season and I look forward to seeing you all at the club throughout the year.

Here's to another successful season for the Foel.

Welcoming the Teams

Chairman’s Matchday Welcome On behalf of everyone at Felinfoel RFC, I would like to extend a warm welcome to today’s visiting players, coaching staff, committee members and supporters. We look forward to an exciting and hard-fought encounter between two committed sides. We hope the match is played in the right spirit and provides an enjoyable afternoon of rugby for everyone in attendance. Our players and coaching team continue to work extremely hard, both on and off the field, as we build for the future. We wish them the very best for today’s fixture and hope their effort and commitment are rewarded with a strong performance. Following the match, I would like to invite all players, committee members and supporters, both home and away, back to the Foel clubhouse for refreshments and an opportunity to reflect on the game. These occasions are an important part of the community rugby ethos and help strengthen the friendships and traditions shared between our clubs. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all our sponsors and supporters for the continued backing they provide throughout the season. Their generosity and commitment play an essential role in helping the club move forward. Special thanks must also go to the Felinfoel RFC committee and our many volunteers, who work tirelessly for the club throughout the year. Much of their work takes place behind the scenes, but their contribution is vital and greatly appreciated. Finally, thank you to today’s match sponsor and to all our commercial partners for their continued support of Felinfoel RFC. Enjoy today’s encounter, and good luck to everyone involved. Diolch. Steve Milner Chairman

Team Management

Looking ahead to our 151st season, the focus is firmly on the future, building a strong structure across the whole club: First Team, Brewers, Youth and Mini/Juniors.

As Head of Rugby, my role is to look at the bigger picture: future planning, developing our structures, supporting our coaches and players, and creating clear pathways for everyone to progress. There is a lot of hard work ahead, but it is an exciting time for Felinfoel RFC. We want to continue building a club we can all be proud of.

We have recruited well ahead of the new season, bringing in a good mix of new players while also retaining the core of our existing squad. The new boys have settled into the club extremely well, and it has been fantastic to see them integrate into the group both on and off the field. The focus has been on creating a positive environment where every player can develop, improve and enjoy their rugby. The commitment shown by the players and coaching staff has been excellent, and there is a real sense of togetherness building throughout the club.

Paul (Bear) Williams
